At Live Oak, LIFE Groups are an integral part of what we do. We believe that in order to build our relationships with Christ, we must make it a priority to build relationships with others who are seeking the same goal.

LIFE Groups provide people the opportunity to connect with others, grow in their relationships with Christ, and experience LIFE together. In our LIFE Groups, people study God’s Word together and discuss the issues and challenges of life. It’s also a place where they pray, care for one another, and are missed if they are absent. LIFE Groups meet throughout the week at various locations and times.

Summer 2010 LIFE Groups

1. Now That I am a Christian

Begins: June 2nd

Leader: Chuck Brisbin

When: Wednesdays, 6:00-7:30pm

Where: Community Life Center

This study will to continue to enhance your walk and relationship with Jesus Christ by studying and learning God’s word and understanding the Gospel. This instruction is recommended to anyone who desires to grow in their daily walk with our Lord and Savior.

2. The Book of Mark

Begins: June 2nd

Leader: Jessica Roderick

When: Wednesdays, 6:00-7:30 pm

Where: Community Life Center 2^nd Floor

This Group is open to all women.

Here are some facts about the book of Mark:

It is the shortest of the four gospels. The author is most likely John Mark, whom accompanied Paul on his first missionary journey, but some say that it was a disciple of Peter who wrote the book of Mark! The purpose of this book is to present the person, work and teachings of Jesus! The original audience was the Christians in Rome. Mark records more miracles than any other Gospel!

3. Women’s Bible Study

Begins: 8 June

Leader: Terri Wheeler

When: Tuesdays, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Where: Terri’s house, 30 South Rockwell Avenue

If this is true of human words, how much more of the Word of God!!! “Word Study” is a unique study of the Living Word of God focusing on specific words used repeatedly in the Scriptures, words that speak to us about God’s ways, His character, and His love for us. The emphasis will be on tracing a word through Scripture and discovering how the lessons we learn from it can apply to our day-to-day lives. Each lesson is independent and as such is the perfect format for summer, where you may have to miss a lesson or two or may want to invite a friend – or two!

4. Men’s Bible Study

Begins: June 8th

Leader: Dr. Spencer Wheeler

When: Tuesday, 7:00-8:30pm

Where: Wheeler’s home, 30 South Rockwell Avenue

This will be an interactive study for all men to fellowship, learn and encourage one another. We will learn how to increase our personal relationship and walk with Jesus Christ by studying and applying the bible to our daily lives.
